Lukla Airport

Tenzing-Hillary Airport (IATA:LUA ICAO VNLK) also known as lukla Airport is a small airport in the ton of Lukla in Khumbu Solukhubmbu district , Sagarmatha Zone rastern Nepal. A program entitled most Extreme Airports broadcast on The History Channel in 2010  rated the airport as the most dangerous airport in the World . The single runway is 1,500 feet(460m) long 65 feet(20m) wide. The elevation of the airport is 9,100 feet(2800m) . Aircraft can only use tunway 06 for landings and tunway 24 for lakeoffs. Due to the trrrain , there is no prospect of successful go-around on short final.

The airport is popular because Lukla is the place where most people start the climb to mount Everest Base camp.
