Chinese delegation calls on Nepal women lawmakers

A Visiting high level Chinese delegation held discussions with women members of the constituent Assmbly on Thursday.

The delegation led be Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Netional peoples congress of the peoples Republic of Chaina Chen Zhili briefed about the participation of women in different government bodies in China.

Pun says West seti Pokhara airport top priority projects

A  17 member team led by Krishana Mohan Shrestha president of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerece in in Kathamandu to press the government to expedite construction of the regional international airport in pokhara.

Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said on Tuesday that the government was making all out efforts to develop two major projects west seti Hydro Project and Regional International Airport in Pokhara -despite some emerging procedurral glitches.

He added that there were slim chances of constructing the  proposed airport at Chinnedanda Pokhara if the chinese investors backtracked from the west seti project. Pun made the remark during a meeting with a private sector delegation from Pokhara.

A 17 member team led by Krishan Mohan Shrestha , president of the pokhara Chamber of Commere and Industry is here to press the government to expedite construction of the regional international Airport in Pokhara., one of Nepals most popular toutist hubs. The delegation also met with prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and leaders of the thre mojor political parties on Tuesday.

Lukla Airport

Tenzing-Hillary Airport (IATA:LUA ICAO VNLK) also known as lukla Airport is a small airport in the ton of Lukla in Khumbu Solukhubmbu district , Sagarmatha Zone rastern Nepal. A program entitled most Extreme Airports broadcast on The History Channel in 2010  rated the airport as the most dangerous airport in the World . The single runway is 1,500 feet(460m) long 65 feet(20m) wide. The elevation of the airport is 9,100 feet(2800m) . Aircraft can only use tunway 06 for landings and tunway 24 for lakeoffs. Due to the trrrain , there is no prospect of successful go-around on short final.

The airport is popular because Lukla is the place where most people start the climb to mount Everest Base camp.

New statute impossible by may 27 says Thapa

Pyuthan; Chairman of the Rastriya prajatantra party Nwpal Kamal Thapa claimed on Tuesday that the nation will not get the the constitution within may 27 at any cost.

Thapa , who arrived here to address the pyuthan District Convention of the party said it was not possible to promulgate the new constitution within the next 55 days of the constituent Assmbly as the leaderes of major political parties are sticking to thir guns.

He said new constitution has been uncertain for the political parties are engrossed in party interest and game for power.

Chairman Thapa futher called for going for a new political process as per the supreme court directive if the constitution was not promulgate in the slated timeframe.

Clouded leopard spotted in ACP

An endangered clouded leopard has been found inside the Annapurna Conservation Ateam that went to the area for a wolf study found the animal in a forest in Dhoda., about a 10-hour walk away from sikles.

Raju Achary of the ream said that 15 automatic cameras were installed in the area for 35 days which took the pictures of the leopard. It is good news to have found the endangered animal, he said adding this was the second the species was sighted in Nepal. Earlier the animal species was found  in the shivapuri NATIONAL park.

The leopard listed as an endangered animal by the National parks and Wildlife Conservation ACT 2029 ia douns in Nepal, India Bangladesh China Malaysia Thailand Indonesia Vietnam Laos and Cambodia an has mare than 10,000 populations. An animal of this species weighs between 15 kg to 23 kg and is less than one metre in beight.

113 people living with HIV/ AIS in Mahottari

Baradibas AS many as 113 persons have been so far found infected withe HIV virus in mohottari district as cited in the record maintained by Districy Health Office Mahottari.
According to office chief and senior health administrator Bijaya Kumar Jha among the infected 68 are male and 45 are female.

On them 26 male and 10 female have been consuming medicine ARV the office informed
